Welcome to YEF (Youth Empowerment Foundation)!

At YEF, we believe in the power of community collaboration to create lasting change. Since our establishment in 2018, we have been committed to improving the lives of underserved communities in South Sudan through a wide range of essential services. Our mission is to provide relief assistance, healthcare, food security, protection support, and WASH services to those who need it most.

Our Work: Empowering Communities for a Brighter Future

We work hand-in-hand with local structures such as village health committees, community health workers, gender and child protection committees, and SGBV authorities. This collaboration allows us to effectively address the needs of our communities and offer comprehensive support. Our services include:

• Relief Assistance: Immediate aid for those affected by crises.
• Healthcare Services and Counseling: Access to essential health services and mental health support.
• Food Security and Livelihoods: Ensuring families have access to nutritious food and sustainable livelihoods.
• Protection Support: Safeguarding the rights and safety of vulnerable individuals.
• WASH Services: Providing clean water, sanitation, and hygiene education.

YEF is a private, voluntary, non political, and non profit organization. It is legally registered in South Sudan under registration number 3507.

YEF is also a member of the South Sudan NGO Forum.

Our mission is to create a world where youth and vulnerable individuals are valued, treated equally, and enjoy their full rights as citizens. We strive to ensure they have the power to influence decisions that affect their lives.

Mission

To educate, protect, and empower vulnerable youth, and to care for and assist needy girls, women, and children in deprived rural communities. Our efforts focus on addressing reproductive health issues, gender-based violence (GBV), WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene), food security and livelihoods (FSL), advocacy, peacebuilding, and education. We work in partnership with individuals, national and international NGOs, UN agencies, embassies, and global institutions to combat poverty and social issues affecting youth, women, and children, especially in rural areas.

1. Provide Access to Essential Healthcare: Ensure that lifesaving health care services and medical commodities, including pharmaceuticals, are accessible to those in need.
2. Improve WASH Services: Facilitate access to safe water, promote the safe disposal of human waste, prevent and mitigate WASH-related diseases, and encourage good hygiene and sanitation practices.
3. Enhance Safety and Dignity: Promote the safety and dignity of vulnerable individuals by preventing and mitigating risks to their lives.
4. Manage Acute Malnutrition: Offer quality management of acute malnutrition in vulnerable communities, conduct food distribution, and support food production and storage among local populations.
5. Boost Living Standards: Enhance the living standards of vulnerable communities through sustainable agricultural practices, and improve post-harvest handling and storage.
6. Advance Education for Sustainable Change: Implement educational programs that empower learners to make informed decisions and take responsible actions for environmental integrity, economic viability, and a just society for current and future generations.
